| There were a few theatres in the U.S. that refused to play “Brokeback Mountain.” The show was about gay cowboys. They took the religious stand on the issue, saying how its just wrong to show gay films etc. People, I hope you understand that these people who chose not to show the movie are true hypocrites. They act righteous like they are doing us a favor by not showing the gay films, that way we don’t stray off our straight path and become gay by watching these films.
Ok, why is it I cannot find in the ten commandments “Thou shalt not be gay.” ? These churches make it seem like its one sin that cannot be forgiven. In fact, I think I can find more verses in the bible that reference your body as a temple of God, yet so many people get tattoos. You don’t see people refusing to play movies because an actor has a tattoo on. “Oh a tattoo is not a big of a deal as being gay” Who can honestly say they know God enough to know that one thing is worse than another. God did not list “Degrees” with sins on the 10 commandments. In other words, he did not say that murdering someone is worse than stealing money. It was people who decided that taking a life from someone is worse than stealing. However, God makes no mention that it is worth, just that it is a sin. A sin is a sin is a sin. Stealing is the same as murder. It is sin regardless and because of that, without Jesus, you are unworthy to be in Gods heavenly kingdom.
With that being said, why are people out there, choosing what laws fit them and discarding the others as nothing. Why is it wrong to show a gay film, but it is ok to show a film where there are sadistic people, killing other people (Saw, Saw 2, Fight Club, Troy) These films show violence and death. But its ok to show them, because they are not as bad as being gay. These people are hypocrites. They take Gods laws into their own hands and choose which ones work best for them. They are not Christians. They try manipulating the bible and acting righteous.
Those who smoke, drink alcohol, get piercing, tattoos, cut yourselves, starve yourselves, worry about your looks etc. are just as guilty as being gay, because they desecrate Gods temple, which is your body. Yet, people only point out the bad things that they are not involved with.
For the record, I am not gay. But that does not matter and its besides the point. If your church picks and chooses which sins are causes for excommunication and which are not, you may want to reconsider your church. For they are already judging people, taking Gods job away from him. They dare choose which sin is worse than the other. Churches do not choose who their followers are. God chooses the followers. If some church dares to turn their backs on a particular sin, I would be very cautious of that church and their teachings. Thru Christ, all sins that you commit have already been forgiven. Your salvation is dependent on Faith alone. Thru the Grace of God you have already been saved.
Ok, well that is my 2 cent argument for the day. Feel free to argue or comment. |
